Purpose Statement:

The main responsibility of the IS department is a Pan European support of all business and office IT systems. This includes maintaining an operational network.
The operational services are responsible for the operational support (24/7) of all network components, including switches and firewalls. The handling of Incidents and Requests for changes.

Key Facts and Figures: (Please attach current organisation chart)

•    No direct or indirect reports
•    No budget responsibility

Main Responsibilities:

1. Networking administrator   
•    Support management of network devices such as routers, switches, firewalls, load balancers
•    Support reported incident via call management system 24x7
•    Support changes via change management system
•    Contribute to the monitoring performance and auditing access to systems 24x7, taking actions to improve the performance / stability; second line support

2. General
•    Provide on-call support participating in an extended hours shift (07:00 to 20:00) and on-call rota (currently one week in four)
•    Ensure relevant processes are followed (Problem resolution, Change control and others)
•    Liaise with 3rd party suppliers as appropriate

Physical location:
Office location is Tupolevlaan 81-99, 1119 PA Schiphol-Rijk. Datacenter locations are at Berghaus Plaza & Kabelweg Amsterdam and at D1 building, Boeing Avenue 53 Schiphol-Rijk
Operational services are delivered Pan European throughout 13 countries in West and Central Europe. Main focus is The Netherlands, Austria and France.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

•    Cisco Experience – a basic working hands on knowledge.
•    Monitoring / Reporting experience – good written business English together with an understanding of reporting requirement and high quality documentation creation.
•    Working knowledge of the following - Checkpoint Firewall / Nokia /  F5 / Alteon / CiscoWorks / Spectrum
•    Familiar with monitoring tools -  Spectrum, SiteScope , Solarwinds , CiscoWorks, Horizon manager - any of these would be nice to have
•    Scripting knowledge would be preferred

Key Measures:

•    Availability of network and connectivity, can be measured by number of incidents arising from unavailability of network connectivity.
•    General behavior (motivation, in time in the office, politeness, neatness, knowledge (training results))
•    Handled amount of incidents and changes according to IPC tooling
•    Quality of handled incidents and changes according to IPC tooling and customers

Working Relationships and Team Working:

•    Internally - Manager/Director – Day-to-day basis
•    Internally - Colleagues – Day-to-day basis
•    Internally/externally - Customers/affiliates – Day-to-day basis
•    Externally – third party suppliers –Weekly basis
