Purpose Statement:
The Internal IT Services department (IIS) is reporting to the director of Technical Services and is responsible for the design & implementation of new and improved internal IT services to meet uptime requirements of 99.99% of the business. After implementation the services are handed-over (including documentation, KPI reporting and monitoring in place) to Operational Services who will operate and monitor the services. At that point in time, IIS will be responsible for trend & problem analysis and ongoing improvements.

Support: During transition phase 24x7 on call is required
Environment: 600 servers; 20Tb storage; 6 user domains; 4 exchange domains ; Supporting 13 countries

Main Responsibilities:

1. Microsoft 2000/ 2003 Systems engineer
Managing changes via change management system
Performing problem management on reported incidents via problem management system
Responsible for monitoring performance and taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Responsible for the design and implementation of the enterprise Active Directory
Design and implementation of (new or improved) systems and services to improve stability, performance and up time

2. Exchange 2003 engineer
Managing changes via change management system
Performing problem management on reported incidents via problem management system
Will be responsible for administering a farm of Exchange servers (monitoring resources, planning changes, traffic tracking, solving routing problems, virus scanning); third line support
Responsible for related functions such as AntiSpam and Archiving
Responsible for monitoring performance and taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Design and implementation of (new or improved) systems and services to improve stability, performance and up time

3. SMS 2003 Engineer
Managing changes via change management system
Will be responsible for packaging, testing and deploying packages to servers and desktops, monitoring hardware/software assets and reporting
Responsible for monitoring performance and auditing access to systems 24x7, taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Design and implementation of (new or improved) systems and services to improve stability, performance and up time
Responsible for design and implementation of SC&D procedures and policies

4. Citrix Engineer

Performing problem management on reported incidents via problem management system
Responsible for the health of the Citrix farm, installation of applications, monitoring hardware/ software assets and reporting
Responsible for monitoring performance and taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Design and implementation of (new or improved) systems and services to improve stability, performance and up time

5. Desktop/ XP Engineer
Managing changes via change management system
Performing problem management on reported incidents via problem management system
Responsible for monitoring performance and taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Design and implementation of (new or improved) standardized image, GPO, AD integration & monitoring to improve stability, performance and up time.

6. Web/ Application Engineer

Performing problem management on reported incidents via problem management system
Responsible for monitoring performance and taking actions to improve the performance / stability; third line support
Design and implementation of (new or improved) standardized server image to improve stability, performance and up time.
Responsible for all Web servers and office and productivity applications


Context/Environment:
Physical location:
o Office location is Schiphol-Rijk. Datacenter locations are Amsterdam (and other remote locations throughout the Netherlands) and Vienna
IIS services are delivered throughout 13 countries in West and Central Europe. Current focus is The Netherlands, Austria and France with rapid expansion into all other European countries of the UPC footprint (like Ireland, Romania, Switzerland)

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:
Broad and deep knowledge of IT Infrastructure
HBO or Bachelor degree or similar level
MCSE or similar relevant qualifications
Good communicational, organizational skills; team player
Minimum of 3 years experience in Windows 2000/2003 Server and Active Directory design and implementation
Experience (100% ownership of the below platforms is needed):
Backup (Netback up /Legato). Solid experience needed.
Storage (HP Product Range)
Anti Virus (Trend)
Minimum of 3 years experience in design and implementation in 1 of the areas:
Exchange 2000 / 2003
SMS 2003, Wise packaging Street, RIS, SQL-Server
Sharepoint 2003
ISA, SPAM, Proxy, EPO
Active Directory, DNS, DHCP

Microsoft Windows 2000/ 2003 Systems Engineer
Minimum of 3 years experience with Windows 2000/2003 Active Directory servers: Technical expertise (design, installation of Domain Controllers, File and Print Servers) as well as problem analysis and troubleshooting skills
MCSE Windows 2000/2003 certification is desirable
Practical knowledge of HP and DELL server equipment is an advantage, as well as the use and configuration of products such as McAfee Antivirus, Backup Exec / NetBackup
Practical experience with managing IIS, ISA/Proxy is a plus
Exchange 2003 Engineer
Minimum of 3 years experience with Exchange 2000/2003 servers: Technical expertise (design, installation) as well as problem analysis and troubleshooting skills
Microsoft Exchange 2000/2003 certification is desirable
Practical experience with managing mail sweepers, SPAM & ISA is a plus
SMS 2003 Engineer
Minimum of 2 years experience with SMS 2.0/2003 servers: Technical expertise (design, installation and deployment) as well as problem analysis and troubleshooting skills, experience with running SMS in a multi-site production environment
Practical experience with WISE scripting/ packaging tool is needed, as well as the use of SMS 2003 in a multilingual environment
Microsoft SMS 2003 certification is desirable
Desktop/ XP Engineer
Minimum of 5 years experience with Windows OS - 2000/ XP and Office environments: Technical expertise (design, installation) as well as problem analysis and troubleshooting skills, experience with running RIS, AD, SMS, GPO, MUI in a multi-lingual production environment
Practical experience with RIS/ WISE scripting/ packaging tool is desirable
Microsoft MCSE 2003 certification is desirable

Citrix Engineer
Minimum of 4 years experience with Citrix Metaframe/Presentation servers: Technical expertise (design, installation / inner working of the product) as well as problem analysis and troubleshooting skills.
Practical experience with Metaframe XP/Presentation server, Nfuse, Citrix Secure Gateway and AppSense, running in a production environment is a plus
Web/ Application Engineer
Minimum of 2 years experience with Web Server design (non-content related) and management in an environment based on IIS
Practical experience with MS SharePoint, MS Project Server, VBScript, XML is required
Knowledge of SQL is desirable

Key Measures:
General behavior (motivation, in time in the office, politeness, neatness, knowledge (training results))
Handled amount of incidents and changes according to IPC tooling
Quality of handled incidents and changes according to IPC tooling and customers
